Announcing the Name

Beth Stiner wanted glamour shots several years ago, and after over 100 she still couldn’t get enough of herself. I had to talk her out of continuing with the photo session.

Of the collection this is my favorite. Good thing I have an artist’s release form, or I’d be worried about posting this.

Announcing the Names

Red White and Blue

Taken in Jacksonville, Florida. It was Christmas time, several years ago.

Admiration and Ophelia

These were taken in a cemetery in Jacksonville. The model is my daughter. I think she was ten at the time. That means it’s been about five years.

The Trees

I thought the parallel interesting. Bosque Bello, FLorida.

The Old Hat

Taken for art’s sake in Jacksonville, Florida sometime around ten years ago.

The Fallen

This is the angel that sparked my love of history, archaeology and ultimately cemetery angels.  She used to stand on a high pedestal with a laurel in one outstretched hand. Because of the thick foliage and trees in that cemetery, the weather had not managed to wear away the chisel marks under her wings.

Then in the 1980’s cult members broke off her nose. (There is a belief that this breaks a statue’s power.) A few weeks later they demolished her. It’s a crying shame that this wonderous work of art would be abused so much by petty and shallow people.

Seriously, if you don’t like the thing don’t look at it. “Respect” is not a matter of convenience.

Chester’s Angel

I took this picture while on a trip to NY state several years ago. It’s for one of our past presidents. Nifty thing. I think it used to be brass; it’s all green and tarnished from the weather.
